On March 21 at 1 p.m., the Brandenburg Moose Family Center, located at 245 Main Street in Brandenburg, will be hosting an Internet safety program. In partnership with the Safe Surfin’ Foundation and both the Meade County Sheriff’s Department and Brandenburg Police, the Moose Family Center will be supplying child and senior citizen ID kits to residents of Meade County.

The Safe Surfin’ Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit Cyber Safety and Responsibility educational initiative, created by law enforcement professionals in 1998. They are dedicated not only to protecting youth from those who would do them harm on the Internet, but also proactively educating them in the safe and responsible use of today’s ever changing technology.

At the event on March 21, each family member will receive a free DVD with their family member’s personal information, picture and fingerprints to be used in the event a loved one goes missing. Local law enforcement representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about Internet safety.
