Selden Herman “Buck” Harris III, age 76, of Brandenburg passed away Monday, January 27 at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN.
Buck was born April 4, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Evelyn Virginia Bourne and Selden Herman Harris, Jr. His brother, Edgar Bourne Harris also preceded him in death.
Buck was a veteran of the US Air Force and a Kentucky Colonel. After leaving the Air Force he worked in Information Technology at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company in Louisville where he met his wife of 46 years, Diana. He later worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. During retirement Buck enjoyed watching football and basketball and discovering his family’s genealogy.
He is survived by his wife, Diana D. Harris and their three children: Thomas Alanson “Lance” (MJ) Harris of Columbus, OH, Dr. Lauren Virginia Harris of Tampa, FL, and Lynne Dowden (Josh) Trotter of Brandenburg; son, Matthew Hughes Harris; brother, Charles Brownie Harris of Wilmington, NC; and granddaughter, Liliana Virginia Trotter with another granddaughter and grandson on the way.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with a private family burial to follow.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 31 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
