SPMS Volleyball off to a good start

The Stuart Pepper Middle School Ladywave Volleyball season has kicked off and is in full swing as the team hosted the North Middle School Lady Trojans on Jan 23, to their brand spanking new court. This was SPMS’s second game of the season. They opened the season just two days prior, beating their cross-county rivals Breck County. This season the Ladywaves seem to have a well-balanced team that works well together getting the ball to their front line that will continue to leave their mark on the court all season.

One of the main reasons that the Ladywaves have only lost one set is due to their front line. The front line proves to be a dominate force against other teams, whether if they are blocking their opponents, or killing the ball. So, in their first set, the back line seemed to have a knack for getting the ball to the correct position to set it up for the kill. This type of play allowed SPMS to win their first set first set handedly. That same type of plays carried over in the second set as they cruised to another victory quickly, giving them the match, and their second win of the season.
