Steven B. Greenwell age 55 of Ocala, Florida, passed away on March 28th, 2020. Born on January 23, 1965, Steve was originally from Flaherty, Kentucky, and graduated from Meade County High school in 1983. After graduating, Steve enrolled in the U.S. Air Force where he served for 8 years. After leaving the Air Force, Steve enlisted in the Army National Guard then switched to Air Force National Guard where he completed two tours -- Iraq and Afghanistan -- for a combined total of 37 years of service. Steve served his country as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. Known as “Green Bean” to his fellow soldiers, Steve was respected and well-liked by his military family. Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Francis G. Greenwell, Jr. also of Flaherty, Kentucky; his paternal grandparents, Hizer and Nettie Greenwell; his maternal grandparents, Harriett and Charles McCabe; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Stacy Greenwell of Ocala, Florida; his daughter, Kayleigh Ridenour; his stepson Steven Core; and his four grandchildren; his mother and father, Sandra and Francis (Jerry) Greenwell of Flaherty, Kentucky; his brothers and sisters -- Tracy and Bart Ponder; Richard and Tina Greewell; Danny and Valerie Greenwell; and Becki and Tom Lanham. His many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from all over the U.S. also share in the loss of our beloved family member. His funeral will be held on July 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radcliff Veteran’s Cemetery with a dinner to follow at the Knights of Columbus in Vine Grove.
