This year at Stull’s Country Store in Andyville, Ethan Mattingly sold his Fraser fir trees as part of their Country Store Christmas celebration. On weekends, beginning on Saturday, November 28 through Saturday, December 19, Ethan and his crew were set up outside Stull’s with their beautiful and fragrant trees.
Ethan Mattingly had driven to Tennessee just after Thanksgiving and picked up a load of Fraser fir trees that were grown in North Carolina. Stull’s advertised the Christmas tree sale, and it was also posted on multiple Facebook sites.
Each person who purchased a tree from Ethan at Stull’s put their name in a drawing to win a Clifty Farm Country Ham. The winning entry was drawn at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 19. Ethan went live on Facebook as he pulled the wining name from a box. The winner was Jeff Dunkleman from Vine Grove. He was very excited to hear that he had won when Ethan called him. Jeff and his wife Sam came to Stull’s at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20 and Ethan presented them with their ham. Jeff and Sam Dunkleman had heard about Ethan selling his Christmas trees from a Facebook Live video that he posted to the Meade County Local Group page. They drove over to Stull’s and bought a nice 9 foot tree and are so pleased with their purchase.
Next year Ethan Mattingly and his family and friends are already planning to get some more Fraser fir trees from Tennessee and will sell them again at Stull’s Country Store. If COVID restrictions are lifted by then more events will be planned during that time, including having a big bonfire, a hot cocoa stand, and perhaps even some live music.
