Summer Reading is June 1 through July 23rd, and we are so excited to share this year’s programs with you!

Children and teens can register for the summer reading challenge on Beanstack, the Library’s reading app. Registration is easy, and the site is available as a friendly app, too. You don’t need a library card to register, just a phone number or email. After registering, you can see the available challenges, and goals. Participants can also log their reading on a paper log (these can be picked up at the Library or printed off of our website under ‘Summer Reading’). Each day, participants will log whether or not they have read. They can read anything, for any length of time, but they do need to read (or be read to) for at least 45 days in the Summer to win all of the prizes. They will receive a registration prize when they begin, and a prize when they complete the 45-day challenge; they will also be entered to win lots of fun drawing all throughout! Adults can register in Beanstack as well, or they can complete paper logs, available at the Library or on the website. Adults must read and write a review for seven books in order to win a prize.

In addition to the reading logs, we have lots of fun programs going on! Every Tuesday on the front porch of the Library from 11-12pm, we will be handing out Grab-and-Go habitat fun kits. You don’t need to register for these, but they are first come, first serve, so be sure to come early to get one for your family. The Bookmobile will head out every Wednesday to the Muldraugh Baptist Church from 9:15-10:15am, the Flaherty Elementary School from 10:35-11:30am, and the Payneville Elementary School from 12:15-1:15pm with books, snacks, and crafts. There will also be in-person programs almost every week all summer long! All of these programs will take place outside, either at the Brandenburg River Front Park Amphitheatre or in the new part of the parking lot at the Library. As such, all programs are dependent on the weather, so please check our website for updated information as the events approach.
