Update on Meade County Messenger's COVID-19 situation

The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 and was in close, continuous proximity with a visitor to our office has since tested negative.

We consulted with a medical professional to ask their advice, and after following their recommendations, we believe that the staff is now at little or no risk of contracting COVID-19.

However, in order to ensure that there is no chance of transmission to the public, our office will operate by appointment only for the time being. We will be screening potential visitors over the phone.

Additionally, in the interest of public safety, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Indoor Yard Sale & Vendor Sale, which was scheduled for Aug. 1. We apologize to those that had planned on attending, but we feel it is our responsibility to do what is best for the public, even if the risk of transmission is very low.

If you have any questions or need to make an appointment to visit our office, please call 270-422-2155.
