The Meade County History Museum is working on the new Church and Veterans exhibits. The Veterans Exhibit includes rarely seen artifacts and unpublished photos of Stalin, Churchill, Patton, McArthur, Roosevelt, Halsey and others. It will also exhibit rarely seen Army and Army Air Corps artifacts. Additionally, speakers are lined up for October and November, and the museum is planning their annual Christmas Social for December. They will hold a book fair at River Front Park where the LST-325 will be docked from Sept. 2 through Sept. 6. There will also be a car show sponsored by the Angel Tree Ministry and the Chamber of Commerce. The museum has acquired a collection from Emergency Management Director Ron Dodson, who will be speaking on Civil Defense during WWII.

The monarch butterfly release is still scheduled for 1 p.m. on July 24. Gary Kempf from Ancestral Trails will give a 15-to-20-minute presentation on the monarch butterfly prior to the release. For more information, contact the Meade County History Museum at 270-422-1823.
