The Robley Rex Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Louisville, KY issued a statement yesterday that visitors are no longer allowed into the facility except for a few dire circumstances.
"Effective April 1, 2020, visitors are no longer permitted to enter the Robley Rex VA Medical Center facility. Exceptions include end-of-life situations or if the visitor is a caregiver and the patient relies on said caregiver for transportation and mobility. Individuals only providing transportation, will be directed to remain in their vehicles. Children under the age of 18 are also not permitted at this time. End-of-life visitation is limited to 11:00am to 1:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm daily. We understand that this places a hardship on family members and loved ones, but as we continue to see an increase in confirmed cases of Coronavirus across our country, safety remains our primary concern right now. We encourage you to use phone calls or text messaging, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, and Skype to stay in touch with loved ones. We must protect our Veterans, their families and our staff."
