I think it is God’s design that for every force in this world there is an equal but opposite complementary force. There is nothing in this world worse than seeing a child truly heartbroken or hurt. In those moments, their tears are the release of a pain so pure that I would not wish it on my worst enemy. In this moment though, I have not only witnessed countless times throughout my life but also been blessed enough to experience one of the most beautiful things this world has to offer; the offsetting force of a mother’s love. A wounded or heartbroken child, who is swept up in the pure loving embrace of their mother’s arms, is exposed to a healing power that no modern medicine or man can ever come close to providing. This is just one of the countless reasons my hat goes off to all you mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers that we are blessed to have in our communities. It takes a village to raise a child. This is true, but I promise you the heart and soul of that village is almost always filled with loving mothers and grandmothers who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of a child. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you ladies out there that wear the title of mother so elegantly. May this Sunday provide all the joy and honor so many great mothers across this country truly deserve. Here’s to wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to you all!
