Young Artist Spotlight: Jacob Dodson

 Jacob Dodson is a 16-year-old sophomore at Meade County High School. Since third grade, Jacob has been involved with choir. He has always enjoyed singing, and has only grown in skill as he has gotten older. Since entering middle school, Jacob has been a part of multiple different after-school and honors choirs, including Fourth District and Quad-State for multiple years. On top of the after school and honors choirs, Jacob was also a part of the Soundwaves, one of the afterschool audition choirs available to high schoolers, his freshman year. And now, in his fourth year in the official MCHS Choir Program, he has joined the Madrigals choir.


Q: “Where does your love of singing come from?”

A: “I just had a lot of fun singing for my family when I was little.”

Q: “What is your favorite genre of music to perform?”

A: “Pop, or like, hip hop.”

Q: “If you had control what musical would you pick for the Choirs next show, and why?”

A: “Wicked, because we went and watched that musical with soundwaves and madrigals, and I loved it.”

Q: “Who is your biggest Inspiration or Role Model, musically or otherwise?”

A: “Lewis Capaldi.I love his music.”

Q: “What made you pick Choir over Band or Enrichment in middle school.”

A: “I love singing.”

Q: “If you had to pick a song for the choir to perform AGAIN, what would you pick, and why?”

A: “Nine Hundred Miles, it was the tenors favorite song last year.”

Q: “What is your favorite choir memory?”

A: “Soundwaves in general.”

Q: “What would you like to see happen to the Meade County Arts Scene?”

A: “To get more appreciation.”

Q: “What advice do you have for incoming choir members?”

A: “Just have fun.”
