Youth participate in speech and demonstration contest

 Youth, ages 9-18, competed in the county-level speech and demonstration contest. This contest teaches youth the parts of a good speech or demonstration, how to write the text, effective delivery techniques and gives lots of opportunities to practice in front of others. Participants of the 2020 Communications (and their placings) included:

 9 year old speech: Holland Hobbs, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest.

 10 year old speech: Hadley Stranger, Champion and Blue ribbon, moving onto district contest; Cale Redmon, Red ribbon; Logan Mattingly, Red ribbon; Addie Moor, Red ribbon; Garrett Scott, Red ribbon; Mason Vowels, Red ribbon.

 11 year old speech: Case Redmon, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest; Yelena Liggett, White ribbon.

12 year old speech: Clare May, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest; Addi Allen, White ribbon; Hallee Hager, White ribbon.

13 year old speech: Conner Benham, Red ribbon; Carlie Stanger, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest.

 14 year old speech: Mary Brooke Stith, Champion and Blue ribbon, moving onto district contest.

 15 year old speech: Gavin Nash, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest.

 16 year old speech: Dylan Shaw, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest.

 17/18 year old speech: Carlie Nash, Champion and Red ribbon, moving onto district contest.
